Deployment Hooked gets Involved. We are a 'hands-on' group of consultants. Hooked is all about getting intimately involved in the execution of the projects we take on. We supervise contractors', consistently follow-up with vendors, test components ourselves, and enforce conformity with design documents. For example: we may not do the wholesale racking of host computers or install, electrical receptacles or Cat 6 Ethernet cabling and patch panels; but we have in the past, and thus are well qualified to manage this work. In other projects, we have helped our clients specify network equipment and then taken an active role in configuring and deploying it. Regardless of who does the work, we strive to apply high-level acceptance processes and provide the documentation necessary for the client to service, maintain, monitor, and extend the infrastructure for which we have taken responsibility. A successful hand-off to operations staff include: as-built and trouble-shooting documentation. We work with our clients' operation teams to manage acceptance, bring-up production levels, and/or execute migration plan phases. We encourage the use of automated systems for backing-up and managing configuration change, monitoring availability, measuring utilization, and providing alert notifications. If the client doesn't have these capabilities, we assist in establishing them, training them on adding and removing hosts or services, and otherwise documenting their use. Going forward, we remain an available resource to assist operation staff when problems exceed their capabilities, or when their ability to resolve them, with vendors, becomes unsatisfactory.
